Driven Delivery

Driven vehicle delivery across the UK

Trade-plated drivers collect your car, van or light commercial and drive it door to door, anywhere on the UK mainland — fully insured, with photo confirmation at both ends.

When driven delivery is the right choice

If the vehicle starts, steers, brakes and is legally fit for the road, driving it is almost always the fastest and cheapest way to move it. There is no loading time, no trailer access requirement and no restriction on narrow residential streets, multi-storey car parks or tight dealership yards. We use this method for the majority of private sales, part-exchange collections and stock movements between forecourts.

A single driver handles the whole journey, so you deal with one person from collection to handover. You get a call before collection, a confirmation when the vehicle is on the move and a photo set at delivery.

What is included

  • Trade plates and full trade-plate motor insurance for the journey
  • Timed collection window agreed with both the sender and the receiver
  • Photographic condition report at collection and delivery on request
  • Fuel and tolls priced into the estimate — no surprise add-ons
  • Direct phone contact with the coordinator handling your move

What we need from you

Collection and delivery postcodes, a contact at each end, and confirmation that the vehicle is taxed or eligible to travel on trade plates, is roadworthy and has at least a quarter tank of fuel. If the vehicle has any fault that affects driving — warning lights, a soft brake pedal, low oil pressure — tell us and we will quote for trailer transport instead.

Pricing

Driven delivery is priced on genuine road miles between the two postcodes, with a minimum charge for short local moves. Surcharges only apply for things you choose: same-day collection, weekend or bank holiday movement, prestige handling, ferry crossings and congestion or ULEZ charges. Everything is shown in the estimate breakdown before you book.

Frequently asked questions

What is driven vehicle delivery?
A trade-plated driver collects your vehicle from the address you give us and drives it directly to the delivery address. It is the most cost-effective way to move a road-legal, taxed-or-trade-plated, insured and fuelled vehicle across the UK.
Will delivery mileage go on the clock?
Yes. Driven delivery adds the road miles of the journey to the odometer. If mileage matters — for a prestige, classic or newly registered car — choose trailer transport instead.
How quickly can a driven delivery be arranged?
Most UK mainland collections are completed within 24–48 hours, and same-day collection is often available in the North West, Midlands and along the M6/M1 corridors if booked before midday.
Is the vehicle insured while it is being driven?
Every movement is covered by goods-in-transit and trade-plate motor insurance. We photograph the vehicle at collection and again at delivery so both parties have a dated condition record.
